This Spike Lee classic tops our list. This is the film that established him internationally as one of the most relevant directors of the second half of the 20th century. The film's plot centers on a hot summer day that ends in tragedy, all from the perspective of Mookie, the film's protagonist.

“The Talented Mr. Ripley” (1999)

Hollywood has always had a special affection for the Italian summer. “The Talented Mr. Ripley” is a clear example of this love as it explores suspense. It tells the story of Tom Ripley, a young man with high-class aspirations who is hired by a millionaire to travel for the summer and convince his son, Dickie, to return to the United States to run the family business.
